Ithaca College London Program

I spent four months in London.

  • I have come to appreciate a good subway/ underground system.
  • London was an incredible time.
  • While I was there I got to see so many shows.
  • It was a little sad, seeing so many famous actors and thinking "oh yeh, they were in James Bond."
  • I tried new foods new places and explored new cultures.
  • It's really scary how America(ns) are viewed from a foreign perspective.

The Globe Theatre

Shakespeare

  • I got to visit and perform, an acting exercise for my Shakespeare class, on the (new)Globe stage.
  • I got to see a lot of shows by the Royal Shakespeare Company.
  • I visited Stratford,the birthplace of Shakespeare.
  • I visited Shakespeare's grave.
  • I got to study his works and see the places he made references to, giving me a whole new understanding of his works.

Me in Bath England

American Dollar does not but squat in London

I paid higher rent than in New York City and learned that the American Dollar does not but squat in London. I lived in a two bedroom "flat" with five other people. We paid about $3000 dollars a month in rent for an apartment, that back home would cost me $340. My friend pays about $1000 for an apartment the same size in New York City.

Princes Diana died

While I was there Princes Diana died and that was a indescribable moment in time. It has been compared with the death of JFK, but I do not know what I would compare it to.

Misc.

While I was there I got addicted to Hobnobs (cookies), salt and vinegar Pringles, and smoked salmon. I also grew fond of smoked salmon and the BBC.

Here are some thumbnails of London:
